Bob Trudeau Memorial Spring Run Off

39th Anniversary – Sunday March 10th, 2024

Kamloops Ridge Runners (KRR) are proud to share that this race raised enough money to donate $1,200.00 to Myeloma Canada. KRR will present this cheque at the Myeloma Canada walk hosted by Bob’s wife Jennifer in the Fall of 2024.
In honor of Bob, this event is making a difference by donating a portion of its profits to Multiple Myeloma.
Multiple Myeloma is a type of cancer that affects plasma cells in the bone marrow. By supporting this cause, we’re helping raise awareness, funding research, and providing support to those impacted by this disease. Bob’s memory lives on through this compassionate initiative.

Bob Trudeau, a remarkable individual, left an indelible mark on the Kamloops Ridge Runners community. As a leader within the group, he shared his passion for nature, guiding fellow runners through park trail systems and access trails that revealed lofty views of the Kamloops valley. Bob’s intelligence, joyfulness, and commitment to healthy neighborhoods extended beyond running. He actively participated in the Northshore Business Association Board, advocating for a better community.

Bob’s love for the environment was evident in his role as a retired forester. His dedication to running took him to various events across British Columbia, including the Two Okanagan International Marathons, Peach City Half Marathon, Victoria Marathon, 5 Peaks Trail Running Series, Mount Robson Marathon, and more. He even volunteered for local races like the Spring Run Off and Blackwell Dairy Run, always adding a touch of fun by dressing up in costumes.

As a new grandfather, Bob cherished moments with his grandchildren, holding them during walks and reading to them. His home, nestled in a spacious backyard adorned with flowers and gardens, reflected his naturalist spirit. Bob designed the house himself, emphasizing the color green both inside and out. The bright green kitchen and the darker pine green exterior mirrored his love for nature.

Bob’s commitment extended beyond running and design. He championed the cause of Multiple Myeloma, organizing fundraisers and walks to raise awareness and support for this cancer. On his 60th birthday, he ran an impressive 60 kilometers alongside his Ridge Runner friends, demonstrating resilience and determination. The celebration that followed, complete with pizza, was a testament to his zest for life.

So, let’s lace up our running shoes and honor Bob’s memory by racing or volunteering and eating pizza together!
